Awning in Seville

This shot alone, and indeed, all the shots in Seville with its high contrasts of light and shadow have been a lesson in camera control. I've learned the very hard way what it is to appropriately operate exposure metering settings, the DOF settings, the ISO settings, the focus selection setting and so on and so forth all in the space of very few seconds and under a blazing sun. I've got it wrong, or left things 'un-switched', so many times that it has been embarrassing, sometimes causing a 20 minute walk back to retake with better settings under the huge heat! But it is 'live and learn', and the scenes here are so magnificent that I couldn't refuse a re-shoot when errors were detected! And hats off to the professionals among us who need to be so on the ball all the time, and who operate their controls with sublime proficiency!

I've had a great day with a long coaching session in the home of my client and then a trip to the shops with you-know-who in mind!

PS
And thanks to those preceptive commenters yesterday....made the effort in the heat so worth while!
