River Dee

An early morning view of the River Dee at Robert Gordon University Aberdeen.  The tree on the right was brought down when the bank gave way.

The weather in the North East of Scotland has been truly dreadful over the last 2 weeks and last two days in particular.  Followed last night by 3 inches of snow on the coast - more inland.

The community and local emergency serves and volunteers have worked tirelessly and with great dedication to minimise the associated problems.  Recognised with a Scottish Parliamentary motion S4M-15279 lodged earlier today.

In this motion a specific community Facebook page has been highlighted for special mention.  Manned by 4 voluntary administrators they have informed and connected a community  ensuring they had appropriate up-to-date information and stayed safe in rapidly deteriorating conditions.

Have a look at the parliamentary motion (may not be available until tomorrow or Monday) and their associated  facebook page - whose name is perhaps not one you would associate with modern day Hero's and Heroines. But then you can't judge a book by its cover!
