Place Colette

In keeping with yesterday's blip, here is a "place" that also commemorates an important woman, the author Colette (1873-1954). Colette spent the last years of her life living in an apartment just steps from here, that looked out over the gardens of the Palais Royal. This colourful metro entrance was installed in 2000 to celebrate the centenary of the Paris Metro. It was designed by Jean-Michel Othoniel.

I spent virtually the whole day reading letters at the Bnf Richelieu site (very near here too). The girls and J went to our favourite creperie for lunch and then visited Th's bookstore in the 5th. I couldn't blip last night because the internet slowed to a halt.
