I am a very proud sister!

This is my brother Paul who was an Olympic Torch bearer in Chelmsford this morning!

He has just stepped off the bus and the little pink monkey is a mascot that has travelled the world with people that Paul works with at our local hospice. This was an amazing time, he must have been waiting a good 5 minutes for the next torch bearer to come and he was truly mobbed by friends, family and masses of strangers all keen to touch the torch and pose with it! when people started pushing their babies in for a picture was the moment I had a little cry!!!! It was amazing!

Paul got to run a double stretch and though some of us tried to keep up we couldn't and it was about an hour later we were reunited at the Anglia Ruskin campus where the 'mobbing' continued and carried on as we headed back into town where he was contsantly approached for photos and chats. It was a surreal and wonderful experience and so special to see family from all over the country including my cousin Gary (more like my extra brother really!) who has flown over from Dublin to be part of this!

Indeed you can see Gary running along filming Paul in the bbc torch relay stream! Paul appears from 7.17am onwards.. http://www.bbc.co.uk/torchrelay

thank goodness the weather was dry after myvery wet torch blip in Colchester yesterday!
