Saturday 7 July 2012: CRAFTY AFTERNOON
I got all my chores out of the way early this morning and was determined to finish off the new house card that I started making a couple of weeks ago (fortunately, they have only just moved in).
I then, for some reason, got the old music hall song "She's only a bird in a gilded cage" in my head and so decided to make a greetings card inspired by that song.
I smeared a used teabag over a sheet of paper and then printed the words of the song onto it. Next I drew around a stencil of a bird cage and cut the relevant bits away (that was tricky as the last time I wielded a craft knife I almost took my finger off). After I had cut a bird out of spotty paper all the bits were attached to the card. I just have to think who to give it to now.....although there are a number of birthdays coming up at work.
