Big Wheel in Paris ...

... seen from the Jeu de Paume, a museum of photography in the corner of the Jardin de Tuileries at the edge of the Place de la  Concorde.  We were there to see an excellent, comprehensive exhibition of the work of Philippe Halsman (1906-1979).  The show is entitled "Astonish Me"--Halsman said literally that he wanted to astonish people with his work, and it is truly impressive. It's an excellent venue for phtography and this installation does it justice.

The Big Wheel is now a regular feature of an extended Christmas season in Paris; to my recollection it is not taken down before the end of January, if then.
