Sunday 8 July 2012: Hewenden Viaduct
I have the kitchen door open because the sun is out, and the village is deathly quiet, not even any traffic. Incredible! I guess that means half of the country is watching the Grand Prix and the other half the tennis! Come on Andy!
Tony and I have just spent a pleasant hour on the bikes doing a circuit which took in Hallas Bridge (to drop off the WI Quiz before the deadline tomorrow! I am ever hopeful that those first prize WI preserves and recipes are in the bag - watch this space!), an impromptu stop to chat with Debbie whilst the menfolk coralled a sick calf into their trailer, into Harecroft, along the top of the viaduct at Hewenden and back through Cullingworth to home.
It's tricky to get a decent blip from the top of the viaduct because you can just about see over the walls if you stand up on your pedals, but eagle-eyed Tony spotted a viewing platform at the end which afforded this rather grand view.
