Lighthouse at Ponce Inlet

We went to this lighthouse and my husband enjoyed the museum and history; I walked to the river nearby and enjoyed the birds. This photo was taken from near the river......actually, I think it is called the inland waterway;  Ponce inlet is on an island bordered by the Atlantic Ocean on the East and inland waterway on the West.  At 5:45PM we watched the sunset from the 7th floor balcony facing West; the extra photo is taken from the same balcony looking South. The second extra is the Sunset shot as the sun disappeared quickly.

The Ponce Inlet Lighthouse is the tallest is Florida and one of the tallest in the USA; the climb up to the observation tower is quite difficult on a narrow spiral staircase, but I have done it several times for the view. It is still a working Lighthouse and can be seen many miles out to sea.
Thanks for visiting. Now off to bed!
