Houses of Wilmington #25

Henry Bacon House (1840)

This house on South 3rd Street was built by Henry Savage and rented to Henry Bacon Sr. Henry Bacon Sr's son, Henry Bacon Jr., was an exceptional architect, best known for designing the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, DC. This house is presently painted a lighter shade of pink, with white trim.

I must change the day of the week that I post these "Houses of Wilmington". After 25 houses, I have become weary of keeping garbage cans, on the curb for pickup on Mondays, out of the picture. I have accepted the fact that parked cars and wires are part of the landscape, but not rubbish.
