Big Softie

This is my first attempt at a close up using my compact camera.

The front of the lens was about an inch from the rose. I used the popup flash to blow the highlights at the top of the frame but keep the bottom in shadow. I did a bit of fiddling to tweak the contrast and colour.

It's a very different look to that I get with a macro lens on my SLR but I quite like it!
