High country tapestry

I was up very early today and off to meet a couple of friends to fish with at Lake Coleridge. I was surprised to discover drizzly rain across the Canterbury Plains, and thick fog blanketed Porters Pass.

In fishing terms you'd expect a cool, overcast morning to fish better than a bright, sunny and warm afternoon. It was the opposite. I caught and released 3 rainbows, lost 2 others and kept 3. Benedict was very impressed with Mummy :-)

This photo caught my eye. I like the colours and shapes. I'm struggling to stay awake now.
