Tuesday 10 July 2012: BAE Systems Yard (revisited)

A section of the Queen Elizabeth aircraft carrier takes shape in Glasgow. Just this single piece weighs 11,000 tonnes.

One of the platers told me that he loves his job, but he'd rather be building something other than warships. We agreed that the best thing you can hope is that it never sees any action.

A great reminder of what an utterly mad world we live in.
