Papercourt Lock

The weather was looking threatening so we turned back from our walk on the River Wey this evening, but the rain stayed away apart from a few drops. This is the view on the approach to Papercourt Lock, part of the Wey Navigation in Send, near Woking, Surrey. The forecast isn't looking good for the rest of the week but I'm hoping the sun will poke through occasionally for the racing in the Panerai Classics week in the Solent where I'm heading tomorrow. This is last year's event so there could be more boat blips this week.

If any of you get the opportunity, do look in on new blipper Hillyblips who I've known a very long time. In fact she was a bridesmaid at our wedding. She takes lovely photographs. She called me today after receiving a distress email from Gill, my wife, who needed money because she was stuck in Madrid. As you've no doubt guessed, Gill's emails had been scammed after she fell for a phishing request from a site purporting to be BT. She should know better but, as she says, she just wasn't thinking. Never, ever, ever, give anyone or any company your password if requested through an email. And if your Aunt Fanny says she's stuck in Manilla without a bean just don't respond.

Still, the upside was to get concerned calls from old friends like Hillary (Hillyblips) and have a good chat instead of just exchanging comments on Facebook.
