Sunday 8 July 2012: Rain, rain go away, time to go to softplay

We are softplay novices, despite the fact that the biggest softplay place in town is around the corner from us. But, in the spirit of spending a little more one-on-one time with A, and due to the never-ending rain, we went for it.

We got there when it opened around 9:30 and it was fine, but it got more and more crowded as time went on. And it got hotter -- I wish we'd worn short sleeves at least. I'll know this for next time. Despite the fact that I have a tiny bit of clausterphobia, we had a great time running around, crawling through tubes, going down slides and swimming through balls. Oh, and we went on the pink bumpercar together, twice, which A said was the best thing ever.

Afterwards, the four of us went up to Granny and Granddad's to watch poor Andy Murray lose again the tennis and have a lovely meal together. From now on, we won't tell A that we're seeing his grandparents until it's happening, as he gets so excited that naps, eating and normal conversation all go out the window ("I want to go to Granny's house. I want to go to Granny's house. When are we gong? What is Granny doing?" Etc.....), so despite two hours of running around, A was not having eating his lunch or having his nap. Oh well. Next time we go to softplay, we'll wear short sleeves and not mention anything about the grandparents.
