Carnaval of the schools

The day before adult Carnaval, on lundi gras, the primary schools organise their version. I was pleased to see how these youngsters are doing just what the grown-ups do, on their own scale: learning to coordinate their movements to animate their poulain. This  model of a foal in the town fetes is part of a continuous tradition which dates back to a stay of Louis VIII in Pézenas in 1226. It's good that some popular traditions remain strong, passed on from one generation to the next with enthusiasm.
