Valentine's Day Robins at -27C

Linda thought she saw an American robin this morning. I thought she must have been seeing things. A few minutes later, a flock of about a dozen or so flew into the hawthorn bush to feast on the berries. They must have been hungry. they pretty much ate them all. We're glad they found something to eat. They don't eat birdseed and with the temperatures in the -27C range (-38 with wind chill), it is mighty cold and the pickings are slim. What they are even doing here this time of year is a mystery. Unless, of course, they came up with the unseasonably warm temperatures of a couple of weeks ago when it was +16C. Now THAT was weird.
