Does it stay or does it go?

This ganglion on B’s thumb has a subject of discussion for the past 6 months. When we moved house his new GP referred him to our local hospital to have it removed.
 
The appointment sent for a date in November was for the colorectal clinic (the bum clinic)!!! Having queried this via the hospital & via his GP, he was told by the hospital “to attend”. Needless to say the colorectal surgeon was very apologetic and said that someone had made a mistake and an appointment with an appropriate surgeon would be made.
 
Having heard nothing more from the NHS hospital, the GP agreed to refer him to our local private hospital. B was seen this morning and will have the fluid sac removed under local anaesthetic next month. At a price!!!!
    
We were informed that if the consultant had seen him as a NHS patient, he would have been referred back to his GP for him to do it as a minor op!!! I think that that I’m happier that we pay to have it done by an experienced practitioner, no disrespect to the GP, but…..
