Thursday 12 July 2012: The Tale of the Snail......
......and the Whale. This is the tale of the tiny snail and a great big grey-blue humpback whale......
On a remote and beautiful beach in north west Scotland, in bright summer sunshine, the countryside rangers of Highland Council led a mix of youngling locals and holiday makers in preparing the props and performing a brilliant beachside adaptation of Julia Donaldson and Alex Scheffler's kiddy classic. Owen and Jacob were supporting cast snails. A fun, memorable day in the most beautiful of locations.
Later we walked the Canisp Loop, 7kms of stunning scenery, before retiring home to Drumbeg for Jim's 28 day hung beef curry classic.
