One Crowded Hour

By GlassRoad

what a frill!

Up and off on some serious driving today through fruiting pandanis and wattles in full bloom, muddy pools and dry corrugations and then finally across beach sand bordering turquoise waters.

How lucky are we! Sometimes I think there are no private places left in the world and today we found just such a place and are so privileged to have had access to it.
Butterflies floated over black rocks, the pinks, blues and purples glowed on a painted crayfish shell, an irridescent blue pencil garfish darted through the water and this frill neck lizard clung to a tree branch and watched us with his very beady eye.

While the little and big kids fished, I lay under a casuarina listening to the 'bump bump' of water on rocks and the 'shoosh' of water on sand.
And that was the only sound there was...

...until junior stuck a fish hook in his finger!
