The Edge of the Wold

Park Point sunset

Late in the afternoon, Gus and I walked over the Knott to Far Arnside to see how the wild daffodils are coming along.  They are still a couple of weeks away from a big show.

We went on to Park Point to watch the sun go down, and the shelducks and redshanks feeding in shallow water in the Bay.  The shelducks are paired up now for the breeding season, and were squabbling over territory.

This was the beginning of a fine and enduring sunset, and the heron flew in to pose for the camera as so often happened last year.  This has been such a miserable winter of battleship grey skies, that I have not been out to Park Point until now this season, and I never did see the sun setting in Morecambe Bay - which for me is usually one of the highlights of winter.

Wifie was in Manchester again today, leaving man and dog to their own devices.  We managed.
