Friday 13 July 2012: Thistle

Flowerheads of Creeping Thistle, Cirsium arvense, coming into bloom beside a minor road near Inverurie, Aberdeenshire.

[Known as 'Creeping' Thistle - despite its upright habit! - because it spreads by creeping roots.]
