It's Grim Up North

at Allen Bank

The South Lakes lace makers and Grasmere in extras. (The gentle rattle of the lace makers bobbins was a soothing sound.)

First day of a weeks holiday at home. The ultimate staycation.

The most popular date for the Arnside Knott Blipmeet is Sunday March the 20th.

Can everyone who is interested email me at lynn@iobuild.co.uk so that I can send  a map of how to find the car park, the nearest loos etc.

I'm thinking about meeting in the NT car park  on the Knott at 11.30am - suggest you bring a flask so that you can have a hot drink whilst we wait for everyone to arrive.Walk is approx 4 miles and has quite a lot of 'up' and down' in it. But, if you are used to walking in the Lakes you'll hardly notice the effort.
We can get coffee and a snack at the Bob-in Cafe three quarters of the way round the walk. (Bob -in isn't the best cafe in the area but it is the only one on the walk. It's basic but OK, it fills a gap and the cakes are good) and then anyone who wants to explore Arnside village and pubs  can do so later in the afternoon. Sound OK?

If the forecast is awful it will be best to abandon until later in the year. But lets hope for glorious sunshine.
