Sunday 15 July 2012: slow down vs. speed up
I was mountain biking today. Usually I don't dare to take camera with me but I wanted to do a little bit easier workout and camera was excellent reason to avoid the most challenging routes. For me mountain biking is therapeutic experience because I need a possibility to be alone in a green forest, speed up, forget everything and just enjoy.
This time was different: my brother-in-law is getting married 29th July and I had a great opportunity to think what I would like to say then. In cycling and sports in general you can speed up but there are many things in life, and especially in human relationships, where small and careful steps are wiser than speed and quick progress. As in mountain biking, going too quick can be dangerous and at least it prevents you to see the beauty around you. There is more to life than just increasing its speed, as Mahatma Gandhi has said.
