Sunday 15 July 2012: Naughty schoolgirl
Today my parents had the children, all bar Miss C who has her end of year play with her drama academy. I dropped the others off, we had to divert a couple of times as the floods are bad around here, and if I go through water my battery light comes on and I loose power to the car. Its not normally an issue, but going through fords is no longer an option with my car.
Her play was in a place I had never heard of, and she needed to be there at 2pm for a rehearsal. We dropped her off and headed to Hitchin to find a place for a drink and chat. We found a nice 'greasy spoon cafe' and sat for half an hour between rehearsals and the play. We arrived in good time and sat indoors, I am still trying to finish the first '50 shades of grey' book but every time I listen I seem to spend most of the time I have locating where I last left the audio book! I got another 5 minutes under my belt (at this rate I will be finished the first book around Christmas).
We were given raffle tickets and found some good seats on the 2nd row. The drama group has changed hands since last year and this time there are the usual warnings about no photography or video as they are trying to sell their own photographers work. I actually put in to do the photography but the woman running it wanted prints on the night, rather than after the event. I am not set up to do it, and I am not entertaining buying the equipment. I carried on regardless and got some really nice shots of Miss C doing her thing, she had lots of lines to say and was mouthing the lines of the other children in-between too. Apart from a giant (real) spider and a sword flying across the stage, everything went to plan. At the end she got a bronze medal for two years of drama, she was very pleased and we were very proud parents too. At the end they drew the raffle, I muttered it wasn't worth locating the ticket as I never win. Sure enough I did! (an outsize t-shirt, with the logo of the drama academy on it). I am not too sure what to do with it as it is HUGE, but another win is always welcome!
Oh I forgot, when I took Miss E over this morning we found her knee pads, which she calls 'lily pad', she also calls her Lelli Kelly's whirly curlies. She is very funny!
