I totally forgot I had this, a souvenir from the Statue of Liberty. One of those little machines that flattens coins and stamps a design on them, in this case a one cent piece.
20 years ago to the day I was in NYC for the very first time. I visited as an art school student and loved every minute of a city I had dreamed of visiting. The St Patrick's Day parade on the following day was quite something. My lasting memory of the trip was standing on the observation floor of the twin towers, marvelling at the visibility that day. So poignant now.
I have visited New York many times since, I love the energy of this great city.
I'm well overdue a visit. :-)
