Cobbles

As it was raining slightly I took a brief photographic detour to the cobbled streets of Aberdeen. Fairly new cobbles I believe as genuinely old cobbles would not be as colourful. A little rain shows them off to their best, hence the detour.

The subject of the photograph is Ma Cameron's pub, the oldest pub in Aberdeen and originally a coaching inn. It has been refurbished recently, I have not been inside since it reopened, a treat which awaits at some point. The local newspaper has reassured me the snug bar has been retained and is largely unaltered.

The building to the left of Ma Cameron's is another pub "The Old Schoolhouse". This pub is in a converted school building, and quite a pleasant building architecturally. It must have been very convenient for the pupils having a pub right next door, and possibly also for the teachers, as long as pupils and teachers kept themselves to different parts of the pub.
