Monday 16 July 2012: Summer Heat
We are enjoying the last of a 3 day weekend here in Japan. It is Marine Day today, so people are relaxing! It is so hot in Tokyo, that it is a little uncomfortable to be out in the sun, but if you dress appropriately, you can somehow survive the heat! I found these young women having a little photo session at the shrine. They are wearing summer kimonos known as yukata. I prefer a different type of traditional Japanese summer wear called, jinbei, as the jinbei allows for much more air circulation. I'll try to find a jinbei for one of my next blips.
