Alphabet Challenge Day 16 M is for...

...My Mum Majorie. Born in Teignmouth Devon, one of 7 seven children left school to start work in a shoe shop. Come the war she decided to join the W.A.A.F and did so in 1941.
She married my father in 1942, but opted to stay in the Air Force until late 1945 when she was released.

The photo is dated 1942. The blue book gives details of her service and a Service Release Reference "Reliable and steady. Recommended for a position of trust" in 1945. The stitched case contains a weekend pass for her to get home to London.

So, I have to admit all that makes me one of the Post War Baby Boomers!
