Borderline

We took a walk on one of our favourite routes. Part of it borders military land. The red flags were firing but we didn't need them to tell us to keep out, the big guns were sounding quite close by. This old concrete fence post marks the line of the boundary wiht the no-go zone. Its wires are long gone and many of the posts are deteriorating or gone. The remaining ones are crumbling and all have hats of moss. I love the way the nature is reclaiming its space. The extras are a heavily lichen encrusted hawthorn that was still hanging onto a few shrivelled, red berries and the Drake stone, a giant megalith of a rock and long time attraction (see the ancient graffiti), climbers test and picnic spot.
