'Happy Easter'

Wishing everyone a safe and happy easter.

I took the kids down to Bells Beach this morning to watch the Rip Curl Classic surfing competition, but unfortunately by the time we arrived they weren't allowing any public to enter the beach. The officials we saw told us that the tide was way in and there wasn't any room on the beach for any more people. We were turned away in droves.

We walked back to the car and decided to drive a bit further down the Great Ocean Road to Lorne to have lunch on the beach. Traffic was a complete nightmare but we eventually arrived around 1pm. Bought pies and a sausage roll for lunch and sat down at the beach to eat and enjoy the sights and sounds. The kids ended up getting drenched in their clothes and hat to strip down for the drive home as we weren't prepared for them to go into the water. The car is now full of sand and will need a vacuum tomorrow.

Managed to catch a few people surfing down at the beach, but not the world champions we were hoping to see. Oh well, better luck next time.

Arrived back home around 6pm and took Dylan down to the oval to play soccer for half an hour and then back home.

I'm buggered and ready for some Zzzzzzz's myself.
