Breakey Blips

Welcome to Melbourne

The very first time I came to Melbourne, oh, almost 20 years ago, I was struck by the immense efforts the pioneers had made to bring Europe to this corner of Australia. So Melbourne is filled with beautiful avenues and parks of deciduous trees, with barely a native eucalyptus on sight. This is the avenue leading up to the old Melbourne Exhibition Hall, which itself is a glowing example of Victorian / late 19th century public architecture.
It is near the hospital where I have been sitting, knitting and watching my husband. I was required to absent myself from the room, so I went for a walk and a coffee.
I think he's improving.
