Train

9.0C with a wet start. Dry early afternoon. Brighter by 5pm.. Light ESE breeze.

Grocery shopping this morning at Sainsburys and in M&S at City Quay/Gallagher Retail Park in Dundee.

Before lunch we packed all the CDs and DVDs. Also some ceramics and Japanese wooden dolls (for which we had kept the original boxes) from the display unit in the dining room . After lunch we packed the HiFi music system and also cleared our collection of stoneware jars and ceramic jugs from the conservatory and packed them too. So, dining room and conservatory clear (other than the furniture). Just the fragile things left that we are having packed by the removal firm on Friday.

Once the rain had stopped we took Maeve the Deerhound for a walk. Just a two mile loop down to the shore road and round to the main road and back home with a detour over the road bridge over the railway to Westhaven. At Westhaven, where it was still quite misty after the rain, it wasn't great for taking pictures but I did take half a dozen or so. I have chosen to post one where I just managed to catch a Southbound fast train which you might be able to see behind the fishermen's huts on the left of shot. Having to make do with the photos we can find when we can grab a walk or be out this week !

Back home I decided to bring all the boxes of books and photo albums and anything else heavy down from the loft. I used the conservatory to tape up and stack the full boxes and they are ready to go. A few boxes weren't totally full so they are in one of the bedrooms. They will be topped of when the bedroom contents are packed then sealed up. All that remains in the loft are empty boxes we can use for packing other things, and some pastel paintings. The heavy work of clearing the loft has been done. That felt like real progress.

Then I was able to sit down and watch the F1 on telly with some tea and a scone.
Later I intend to enjoy my half of a small very dark chocolate Easter Egg we got at half price this morning.
Well ... it is my birthday after all !
