A day in the life

FOUNTAINPARK

Bit of a strange one today:
I was coming back from the casino in the taxi at about 6am this morning, when the taxi pulled up at the traffic lights behind a car. Traffic lights went to green, the car in front stayed put. Taxi driver got out of the cab, and the car driver was in the front seat fast asleep -lights blazing and engine running! He wasn't to be woken despite the combined efforts of the taxi driver and another taxi driver who appeared. Presumably pished rather than ill.
Taxi driver no2 phoned the cops, so I suspect he'll be losing his driving licence in due course.

Had to go back up to fountainpark today to get the car. The photo is of the building site at the back of the casino. Not sure who's going to be buying these places seeing as the arse as fallen out of the new build market, maybe the builders know something we don't, or maybe they're just a bunch of optimists.

LAST NIGHTS POKER - £10 Rebuy
Got up to the end of the rebuy period with 4,500 from a starting point of 1000. Had a solid but unspectacular journey through to the final table, didn't have to survive any races.
Got to final table with about 10,000, basically short stacked with 2 others. Table was another total grinder, went on for something like 5 hours. Managed to largely preserve my stack without making any great gains, but one or two players started to go out, till I eventually got to last 6. Had to get involved in the first race which was short stack no 1 going all in, followed by the other short stack no 2 all in, then round to me, I had pocket eights and called. Other 2 had AK and 5's, 8's held up, so made last 4 and the money, plus finally had some chips to play with.
I was still pretty short but making progress. The original chip leader then went all in after another players raise. Original raiser flipped over Aces, and that was me into min 3rd place.
New chip leader set about me and was giving me a bit of a slapping, putting me all in constantly, I called him when I hit QK spades, they made straight to beat his 5's, but he was pretty relentless with the raising, I should have binned my k-7 off suit but thought he was at it. He flips AQ over and it all over for me
Still £260 for 3rd place - delighted!

C had a bad night as did Al. Made alot, then lost a lost on the cash tables.
