Into the Arctic Circle

Another day at sea.

This morning, we crossed the Arctic Circle. I was a little disappointed that there was no ceremony. It was predicted yesterday what time the crossing was expected; and the Captain announced (after the event) that we were now over the line - but we were not met by any Polar Bears or by icebergs in the pool ...

Instead, we experimented a bit with the 'panorama' function on my camera. This allows you to take two or three close-by shots which are then merged into one. This explains how I am able to appear twice in the 'same' photo.

Once we were clearly in the Polar region, we had to return to the pool for another swim (see the blip for Monday). I hope it won't be our last dip into Arctic waters. Today's dip was even more fun. The ship made a couple of minor course changes, which set up a series of large waves in the water. Reminded me of the Good Old Days in Portobello open-air pool, with it's wave machine.
