Leaving Staithes

We spent much of today on the beach in Staithes and Sandsend, two places I have never visited before. They are gorgeous and I will definitely be back.

It has been lovely to spend time with Rachel, Kevin, Libby, Alan and Ann (and of course Eoin). Rachel and I have been friends for 35 years, since we started secondary school, and I love the fact that we are still close and still spend time together as adults.

Her Dad (aka 'The Tidal Bore') continued to regale us with information (both true and fictional) about the buildings, history and geology of the area, just as he has done for 30 years......and that also makes me happy.
