I get asked directions quite a lot, so wasn't really surprised when this guy waved me over from his van this afternoon. I mentally prepared myself by trying to remember the name of the road I was walking down, and the best way to get into town around the various traffic restrictions. But his question was refreshingly easy: "What town is this?". It took a couple of seconds to register. "Bath" "Bath?" (as if he had never heard of it. "Yes - B-A-T-H". "OK, thanks" I'm guessing they didn't have a Sat Nav on the go. Or a map.
