Snapshots of rural France

Rite of passage...

Funerals are funny things aren't they. All to help the dead person to pass from here to there, and to celebrate their life. And really, mainly to help the loved ones grieve. The smell of old incense, part of the pain of listening to religious readings, singing hymns, etc it's all part of that process. In France we get to sprinkle holy water on the coffin. Whilst that was going on this was the music they played. As a friend you notice resemblances-in particular one guy who must have been Francis' brother, they could've been twins. It's hard to watch my friends Marianne and Clement in such pain. I hope the service will mark the start of the healing process.
