We don't get it.

Guns, bullets, violence.

Can't comprehend it.
Can't comprehend it in our cities, where police are violent toward unarmed protesters.
Can't comprehend it in war, where governments wage violence.
Can't comprehend it in film, where violence is idealized and made to look beautiful.
Can't comprehend it in society, where young men buy guns and shoot people.
Can't comprehend this violence.

There are a number of factors more common than not.
Male
Alienated
Preoccupation with violence
Ready access to firearms.

The last is within the power of the people and their government to change.
The second last suggests a societal change and/or regulation to prevent violence from being used as entertainment. Are modern "action" movies much different in their implications from the Roman circuses?
