Love It or Hate It

Plenty of time to try something new today, and it's 1950's Pop Art!

Once I had decided I wanted to try out this effect, the hardest thing was deciding which subject to use. The book I was using advised an image with good contrast because the original effect requires shadows. However, I wanted to try this on still life instead and what did I find on the kitchen table - Marmite! :)

For people not familiar with Marmite, it's a savoury food spread made from yeast extract. After a very successful ad campaign in the late 1990's, the most well known marketing slogan associated with the product is: "You either love it, or hate it", playing on the fact that there are two very distinctive groups of people when it comes to the product. One country has gone so far as to ban the product!

So, like Marmite, you'll either love or hate this image ;)
