Dunadd

It has been one of the worst days of campaigning weather I can ever remember and I have been fighting elections since the 1980s.   There was heavy snow in the morning making driving difficult and then in Oban in the afternoon and evening the mixture of sleet and rain made everything dreich.

My extra picture shows what it was like - me , mid morning in what was meant to be a spring election !

But the hustings themselves were very good.   The Oban Times had decided to liven things up so the format was different from any of the preceding nine events .   The candidates were on stage on high stools , the pre chosen questions were sharper (including questions to each other)  and the chair - the OT's Senior Reporter Louise Lee - insisted on brief responses .

The result was much more satisfactory than any of us expected so congratulations to Louse and the Oban Times.

I had to go to Oban via Lochgilphead and the snow was particularly bad on the Leannach and leaving Kilmartin Glen.

There was none however at Dunadd, though the cloud formations were strange as befits such an important but mysterious  place.
