Oscar de la Renta

Fashion is not normally 'my thing', but today I was in San Francisco and I went to the de Young museum with one of my colleagues to see the 'Oscar de la Renta: The Retrospective' exhibition.

I didn't know much about this amazing designer and artist but I so loved the exhibit of his creations which spanned several decades. Over 130 ensembles were displayed which included evening gowns and daywear, his Russian, Spanish, Eastern and garden influenced designs. There were dresses worn by movie stars as well as First Ladies. See also the Extra photo.

Sometimes it's worth doing something out of the ordinary; something not normally in our area of interest.  It was good to have my horizons broadened.
