Before the fete

A very relaxed first full day en vacances.

I am writing this in the calm moments before I go and collect a foosball bronze medal for my sterling performance in the resort's 'can't use the word Olympics' celebratory games this afternoon.

Following a semi-final replay that ended 4-3 in my opponent's favour I stormed to victory in the 3rd/4th place play-off.

I am not ashamed to tell you that the semi-final defeat came at the hands of a 14 year old.

In my defence she was Dutch.

And she span the bars.
