Mint Seller

Arrived in Essouira after a morning bus ride through an Argan forest, which was arid and gnarled. Goats eat the Argan berries, even climbing the trees to get at them. People can then collect softened and opened berries in the dung, and use them to make oil. Argan oil is tipped to be big in deli and restaurant food in the future. I'm planning on buying some for its nutty flavour:) Upon arrival we found our way to a charming little hostel in the old medina, with whitewashed walls, pastel doors, and ceilings of criss-crossed wood. Here's a mint seller in the Medina, caught firing from the hip.

Bye Barbara

p.s. Moroccan tea is packed with mint and sugar, which is why they consume so much mint!
