Tuesday 24 July 2012: Almost, Auntie Lola, almost!
Wow, I couldn't love this heatwave any more - after months of rain, it is unbelivably uplifting to feel the sun on my skin again.
Finlay was desperate to 'Go back Beeeeeeeeaach, Mummy!' today.
Third day on the trot.
So we did. Well, why wouldn't we?!
So lucky to live in such a gorgeous part of the coast ...
Auntie Lola - I didn't forget the board today! All very adventurous on dry land, but it didn't take long to get him in the water, albeit a little tentatively. Finlay insisted Mamma had first go. That was interesting. Body-boarding on flat water ... hmmm. But it was beautifully warm today, so a fine place to start I thought. So, confidence up, waves next?!
Boo loves it, thank you, was also the envy of many a small boy on the beach! Floraidh was sleeping whilst we played on the board - but the minute she claps eyes on what Finlay is doing, she will most defintely want on there too -she is utterly fearless!
Finlay was asleep before his head hit the pillow tonight, after all that wonderful fresh, sea air. Floraidh took a little more persuading, having slept deeply in the shade this afternoon. A is on the way home from a meeting and I should really, really swing in to gear and sort the chaos out ... outdoor living this week has left my 'domesticity' somewhat lacking.
But who cares, really. Make hay whilst the sun shines and all that jazz.
Such happy, happy children to bed tonight and that is what matters to me!
