Chaffinch and the Offensive Parking Meter...

Today was a lazy-ish walk out. We took the kids to the very well presented Grizdale Forest.

The kids did very well on one of the shortest defined walk in the forest. Ironically and this probably happens with a lot of kids, Bethany and Ewan did display the odd but minimal whinge about the walk or legs hurting but when we got back to the Grizdale Forest centre the kids then went on to probably walk as far again bashing about the play area whilst MrsTFP and myself took a wee breather sit down and fed the chaffinches that were buzzing about.

Later we headed to Hawkshead which is a wee quaint but pretty touristy. It was rather nice except for their parking meter which is of the type I've never come across. A couple of days ago, we were parking in Bowness by Windemere and I was kindly offered an hours parking ticket by someone leaving and we had a spare ticket which we handed onto someone else when we left. It one of the more altuistic sides of motoring that most people adhere to.

Back to the parking meter in Hawkshead. Before you put the money in, you have to enter your car registration thus killing the practice of passing unused ticket time onto someone just coming in.

That's a ticket machine too far in my opinion.
