Santa Cruz for Bernie

We didn't stand a chance of getting into the packed downtown arena where the rally took place, but we were about a football field away from the candidate when he addressed the exuberant overflow crowd for about ten minutes. He made his key points about education, health care and prisons as his supporters cheered and waved phones, cameras and tablets. The press seemed to be allowed up one at a time on the ladder at the right; someone would step up, take a few shots, then yield the position to a colleague. Everyone took photos of everyone else and there was a great current of positive energy and excitement.
