Wednesday 25 July 2012: gallant
A beautiful sunrise on Groote and we left in clear skies en route to Gove on the mainland. After two aborted landings because we the passengers, and presumably the pilots, couldn't see the runway through fog and rain, we returned to Groote!
Much grumbling from the FIFO workers heading out on their week of r and r and no grumbling from me and another fellow passenger who reckoned 'you're a long time dead' and what's a day here or there.
We did get back to Gove eventually and then on to Darwin and finally back to Perth. A very long, and at moments a tad scary, day and thank you to this gallant little 30 seater prop plane and her pilots for getting us safely home.
