The Edge of the Wold

Exploring the boundaries

By popular demand here is this year's first blip of Reg, exploring whether the step down into the garden offers any possible route to the big outside world.  You might have thought that a garden full of tasty dandelions, hawkbits, clovers and other edible plants would keep him happy.  But no, he's a wanderer by instinct, peripatetic, an explorer of boundaries.  If there's a weak spot in the palisade, he'll find it.  It's an ongoing struggle of wills to keep him contained and safe.  For the time being at least, the improved defences are working.

We were early again on the Knott this morning.  Overnight there was no storm to knock down the fritillaries.  They weren't scattered over the grass like yesterday, but many were all 'roosting' together in a few spots. They were higher up beyond the shade, and already primed and ready to go as I approached with the camera.

Thanks you for all the welcome back comments and stars/hearts yesterday.  I have to pop out for a while now, but shall catch up later.
