Day 1 residential school

Why do seagulls always look as though they're cross or annoyed about something?
Apparently it's quite a trait as several of them were arguing outside my window at about 5am this morning, and another one - possibly this one, swept down and almost landed on one of my fellow tutors head whilst she was eating pasta - they are rather big birds when you get up close to them with their wings out.

Anyway, quite a slow day, students don't arrive until 4ish so after a few meetings and lab familiarisations there was time to wander around and take a few pictures. Tomorrow the pace picks up, labs 9-5:30, tutorials 7-9:10 bar 9:10:30 onwards.
