What's this all about then?

Westgate St, Gloucester, with St Nicholas Church at the bottom. The Cathedral is off to the right but not in view.
Red, white and blue bunting all down Northgate, Southgate, Eastgate and Westgate streets, wonder what that might be for then.
It's been quite a year for celebrations so far, Queens Diamond Jubilee, Olympics and the diamond jubilee of the first Avro Vulcan flight on 1 August 1952, only 11 years after the Lancasters first flight, amazing when you consider the difference in the two aircraft.
